Jersey fitted sheets perfect for rolling on!

The role of quality sleep is vital for both our mental and physical health. The best way to complement a relaxing bedtime routine is to ensure you follow through with a good night’s sleep.

One of the ways to do this is to make sure organic textiles have been used, both for your long-term health as well as the environment. Jersey fitted sheets, also known as t-shirt sheets, are a staple type of fabric for bedding but are often made with blended synthetic materials.

Excellent opportunity to try new things

College, oh college. That lovely moment when we had our first taste of independence, a ridiculous amount of free time, and no money. We chose jersey fitted sheets — the old, worn-in T-shirt of bedding – because we were breaking (and partially because mom wasn't there to do our laundry). Jersey fitted sheets are appealing because they are wrinkle-resistant, low-maintenance, and luxuriously soft.

Downsides of Jersey Fitted Sheets

The type of material used to construct your bedding can affect how warm you become at night. Even if you're looking for a pair of extra-warm sheets for a comfortable winter bedroom makeover, synthetics will make you sweat. Synthetic materials (even cotton jersey blends) impede the flow of air through the fibers, trapping heat, unlike natural fabrics like 100 percent organic cotton.

Because your body can't adequately control your temperature, you sweat a lot more. As a result, the quality of your sleep suffers. Synthetic fibers can also release minor amounts of pollutants like PFCs when exposed to too much heat.

They can be absorbed by your skin if the fabric does not provide adequate ventilation. According to studies, these synthetic particles might build up in our blood over time and cause health problems in the long run.

Jersey Cotton Sheets Versus 100% Cotton Sheets

  •  Many of us may not have paid much attention to our sleep patterns before the current surge in remote working and social isolation. However, in these uncertain times, when there is little sense of normalcy, we've become more prone to bad sleep as a result of physical and emotional exhaustion.
  •  It's reasonable that some people struggle to obtain a good night's sleep due to a lack of social engagements and outdoor activities to keep us busy and engaged during the day. Choosing proper bedding is one step toward achieving a night of more restful sleep, whether you're having difficulties falling asleep or have more severe insomnia.
  • While jersey bed sheets are touted as being softer and fluffier than cotton alternatives, many people are unaware that the texture of their bedding is determined more by thread count and quality than by the type of cloth.

What is the material used to make jerseys?

When jersey was first established in the Middle Ages, it was made of wool, but technological advancements have led to the usage of synthetic fibers and cotton instead. Why? Cotton jersey is less expensive than wool, and the fabric is more durable thanks to synthetic fibers.

What is the issue with jersey fitted sheets?

Synthetics have a long list of drawbacks: From the environmental effects of mass microplastic pollution in our oceans and landfills to the fact that they require thousands of chemicals to manufacture and gather many more by-products, residues, or compounds, microplastics have a long list of negative consequences.

Organic Jersey Sheets from SleepWorld

  • When it comes to bedding, we strive to meet the greatest levels of comfort, environmental friendliness, and general wellness. For our SleepWorld Organic Jersey Bed Sheets, we employ 100 percent organic woven jersey to deliver in all of these categories.
  • Woven jersey is manufactured using a unique weaving technique that gives the finished product a soft, fluffy, and warm texture similar to synthetic blends. These sheets are more than half the thickness of standard jersey fitted sheets, with a thread count of 300.
  • The ensuing trifecta results in an impeccably high-quality product made in an ethical manner. All of this adds to the elegance and comfort of our jersey bedding, allowing you to wake up feeling revitalized and ready to take on the day. You're not sweating, you're fatigued, and you wish you could sleep it off.

You'll love the warm, fluffy comfort of the softest synthetic bedding. All the while, you may rest easy knowing that your bedding is free of dangerous chemicals and hypoallergenic.

Our entire production line and manufacturing process is geared at providing workers with fair wages, cutting-edge technology, and environmentally friendly materials.
